Pkistan: Thieves Hands Chopped Off

.

PESHAWAR: Taliban militants Wednesday cut off the hands of three alleged thieves in a troubled Pakistani tribal region, police and hospital officials said.

Razim Shah, Khaista Khan and Bahmal Khan who belong to the Mashti tribe had been kidnapped about 10 days ago.

After chopping their right hands, the militants freed them. The men were taken to the district headquarters hospital in Hangu. They told media personnel that they were innocent and had been victimised because they hailed from the area of former Taliban commander Sakhiur Rehman with whom the militants had developed differences.

AFP adds: “A Taliban court ordered the cutting off of the right hands of three tribesmen after finding them guilty of theft,” a police official said.
