India Sets World Record, Launches 10 Satellites at One Go http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/articleshow/2989685.cms SRIHARIKOTA: Setting a world record, India's Polar rocket on Monday successfully placed ten satellites , including the country's remote sensing satellite, into orbit in a single mission. ( Watch ) The ten pack launch of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) saw the 230-tonne Polar Satellite launch Vehicle (PSLV-C9) carry the heaviest luggage--824 kgs--and put into orbit an Indian Mini Satellite and eight foreign nano satellites besides the Cartosat-2A remote sensing satellite. At the end of the 52-hour countdown, the PSLV-C9, with a lift-off mass of 230 tonne, blasted off from the launch pad at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre and soared into the clear sky in a textbook launch. Power Theft Cases in Andhra

Power Theft Cases to be Scrapped : HYDERABAD: Energy Minister Mohd. Ali Shabbir has said that all power pilferage cases up to 250 watts will be scrapped and the amounts due to the AP Transco/distribution companies from households and others in these cases totalling Rs 11.79 crore waived. This decision was taken by Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy while reviewing power-related issues here on Saturday. The Minister asked those booked for pilferage to apply for regular power connection under Rajiv Gandhi Grameena Vidyuth Yojana by paying Rs. 125 each. In case of those in urban areas, this expenditure would be borne by the Government. He said these concessions would not apply to those cases involving pilferage of more than 250 watts. Many of them were big people and cases booked for theft of 1,000 watts numbered 19,000 involving Rs. 13 crores.
